Get Home Insurance

Home insurance, also called homeowners insurance, offers protection for your home and property.

Homeowners may need home insurance to protect their home and belongings. Home insurance covers losses and damages to private residence. Your policy may also cover:

  • personal property, such as furniture, valuables, clothes, and electronics
  • additional living expenses
  • personal liability protection
  • medical payments

The type of coverage you get depends on the type of policy you purchase, its liability limits, your deductible, your property value, and other factors. Your mortgage lender may recommend a specific home insurance plan, but you may choose your own policy.

Most policies do not cover motorized vehicles or losses from natural disasters, like floods or earthquakes. You can usually buy coverage for these things in a separate policy.
