2026 Election
First Saturday for Early Voting in General Election
This is the first Saturday registered voters can vote early in person statewide.
The State of Georgia is required to conduct early voting statewide on the second and third Saturdays prior to Election Day. Some polling locations may be open on the second and third Sundays. Verify available dates and polling hours with your early voting precinct.
Early voting, also known as advance voting, is a convenient way to skip the Election Day crowds. For the 2026 General Election, you can cast your ballot in person starting October 13, 2026.
Where to Vote
Unlike Election Day where you must go to your specific precinct, you can vote at any early voting site within your county of residence.
If your usual spot has a long line, you can simply head to another location in your county to save time.
When to Vote
State law guarantees early voting days, but specific hours can vary by county. Typically, you can expect:
- Monday through Friday, usually 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Mandatory voting is held on the second and third Saturdays before Election Day, typically 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Some counties offer optional voting on the second and third Sundays. Check your local elections office for availability.
- Many counties offer extra hours as early as 7 a.m. or as late as 7 p.m.
| Election Type | Early Voting Begins | Election Day |
|---|---|---|
| General Primary | April 27, 2026 | May 19, 2026 |
| General Election | October 13, 2026 | November 3, 2026 |
Always bring a valid government-issued photo ID with you to the polls.
Because counties can choose to extend their weekday hours or offer Sunday voting, it is always best to verify your specific locations and times.
