If you plan to vote by mail in 2026, following these timelines and guidelines will ensure your voice is heard.

Plan Ahead

After your county registrar processes your request, it can take up to two weeks for your ballot to arrive in the mail.

If you are mailing your completed ballot back, we recommend sending it at least two weeks before Election Day to account for any postal delays

Deadlines for the 2026 General Election

For your vote to be counted, your completed and signed absentee ballot must be received by your county elections office by 7 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, 2026.

Three Ways to Return Your Ballot

Use the provided pre-addressed envelopes. Ensure you apply proper postage if required.

You can use an official absentee ballot drop box within your county. Under Georgia law, drop boxes are now located inside early voting sites and are only accessible during early voting hours.

You may hand-deliver your ballot directly to your County Registrar's office during their regular business hours.

Track Your Ballot

Peace of mind is just a click away. You can monitor the status of your absentee request and see when your ballot has been received and accepted by logging into the Georgia My Voter Page.

Ensure you provide your Georgia Driver's License, State ID number, or a copy of an acceptable alternative ID on both your application and ballot envelope as required by state law.
