First Day Registrars May Mail Absentee Ballots for General Election
This is the first day county registrars may start mailing out absentee ballots to voters who requested them.

If you plan to vote by mail in 2026, following these timelines and guidelines will ensure your voice is heard.
Plan Ahead
After your county registrar processes your request, it can take up to two weeks for your ballot to arrive in the mail.
If you are mailing your completed ballot back, we recommend sending it at least two weeks before Election Day to account for any postal delays
Deadlines for the 2026 General Election
For your vote to be counted, your completed and signed absentee ballot must be received by your county elections office by 7 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, 2026.
Three Ways to Return Your Ballot
Use the provided pre-addressed envelopes. Ensure you apply proper postage if required.
You can use an official absentee ballot drop box within your county. Under Georgia law, drop boxes are now located inside early voting sites and are only accessible during early voting hours.
You may hand-deliver your ballot directly to your County Registrar's office during their regular business hours.
