How to Vote on Election Day

On Election Day, you must vote at your assigned polling location from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. As long as you are in line by 7 p.m., you are allowed to cast your ballot. Check your My Voter Page to confirm your specific polling location before heading out.

Election Day Checklist

Before you head to the polls, ensure you are prepared.

  • Confirm your status on the My Voter Page.
  • Polling places can change. Double-check yours before the election.
  • You must present a valid state-issued ID (e.g., driver's license, passport, or Georgia voter ID card).
  • If a poll worker cannot verify your info, you can cast a provisional ballot. You must then resolve any eligibility issues with your County Registrar within three days.

Absentee/Mail-in Voting

If you prefer not to vote in person, you can request an absentee ballot.

Your application must be received by your county office by October 23, 2026, for the General Election.

Returning Your Ballot

  • You can return your ballot by mail. It must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
  • You can return your ballot by drop boxes available inside early voting locations during early voting hours only.
  • You can delivery your ballot directly to your County Board of Registrar's Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day.

What's on Your Ballot

In 2026, Georgians will vote for several offices:

  • One U.S. Senate seat and all 14 U.S. House seats
  • Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, and State School Superintendent
  • All seats in the Georgia State House and Senate
  • Nonpartisan elections for Supreme Court Justices and appellate judges
  • Sheriffs, District Attorneys, and School Board members
